Mrs. Annette Hawkins, 80, of LaGrange, GA was called to Glory on Wednesday, January 16, 2018 from Wellstar West Georgia Hospice.
Mrs. Hawkins was born June 30, 1938 in LaGrange, GA to the late William Berry McCann and Addie Lee Britt McCann. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. Mrs. Hawkins was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church and was the pianist for 15 years. She also played for the Brown Brothers Quartet for 17 years, the Followers for 6 years, and the Hawkins Family for a lifetime. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandson, Kelley May; sister, Rudene Armstrong; and son-in-law, Carey Gantt.
Survivors include her loving husband of 66 years, Robert L. Hawkins; her children, Mike (Susan) Hawkins; Kathy (Brent) Bullington; Renee' Hawkins-Gantt; Mark (Eva) Hawkins; Jeanine (Bobby) Hawkins-May; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two sisters, Phyllis Williams and Wylene Taylor; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 3:00pm Sunday, January 20, 2019 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Rev. Danny Geter and Rev. Bryan Geter officiating. The gathering of family and friends will be from 1:00pm to 3:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
