ohn Frank Balestrere, 79, passed away January 11, 2019. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home. Family & Friends will gather on Wednesday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 900 NE Shady Lane Dr., Kansas City, MO 64118, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
John was born April 7, 1939, in Kansas City, KS, the second of three children born to the late James and Mary (Buckler) Balestrere. He attended the University of Idaho at Pocatello and the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. John was originally a carpenter by trade. He was also in the delicatessen and liquor industries in Las Vegas, Kansas City and Independence.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jody Orlando. Survivors include his brother, Jimmy Balestrere (Anna). Johnny was beloved for his kind heart and loving disposition by his nieces and nephews, Toni and Dave, Mary Sue and Randy, Jovita, Mary Jo and William, Jimmy, and Felicia and Cody. He also has many great-nieces and nephews as well as other family members including the Balestrere, Buckler, and Molle families, and the Milwaukee Balistrieri and Picciurro families.
John will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.
