Mae Smith Rowlett, age 94, of Bristol, Tenn., went to her Heavenly reward on Friday, January 11, 2019 peacefully in her sleep at home. She was born December 27, 1924 in Dante, Va. Mae retired from Sprint and was a member of West Hills Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin W. Rowlett; parents, Maloy and Sinthy Ettie Breeding Smith; three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include her sons, Larry Rowlett and wife Darlene, Mark Rowlett and wife Beth; grandchildren, Jeff Rowlett and wife Brooke, Jennifer Rowlett, and Carl Erd and wife Maggie; great grandchildren, Lily Rowlett, Miles Rowlett, Esmae Erd and Eli Erd; sister, Marie Rock; brother, Bobby Smith; and several nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Amedisys Hospice and Amedisys Home Health Care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 3101 Browns Mill Road, Suite 6, PMB 321, Johnson City, TN 37604.
Per her wishes a private graveside service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery. No other services are planned.
