Wilda M. Creswell, 75, died on Tuesday, June 19, 2013, in Cushing. Her memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at the Mehan Union Church with Pastor Larry Eslinger officiating. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. On Aug. 11, 1937, Wilda was born in Cushing to the late William Walter and Ida Leora (Bailey) Driggs. She married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Bryan Creswell, on April 19, 1958, in Vista, Calif. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage before Bob’s death in early 2012. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Wilda is survived by her son, G.W. “Dub” Parkinson, Jr., and his wife, Eva, of Ripley; granddaughter, Shauna Leigh Parkinson, of New Mexico; grandson, George Walter Parkinson, III (USAF), of Little Rock, Ark.; grandson, Matthew Clayton Parkinson (SAPD), and his wife Barbie, of San Antonio, Texas; grandson, Travis Scott Adkins, and his wife, Sarah, of Duncan; grandson, Grady John Parkinson, of Leon Springs, Texas; and four great-grandchildren. Wilda worked outside the home in various supervisory and administrative career fields, but truly shined as a mother, wife and homemaker. Her love of the Lord shone in her smiles and giving nature. I can’t wait to hear her beautiful voice in that heavenly choir. Just like Jesus. Thank you momma for never letting go. God rest your soul! ... Amen.
