John E. Aiken was the son of the late John E. and Ann Conway Aiken. Mr. Aiken had lived in Clifton Park since 1974. During World War II, he served with the 8th Air Force as an aerial photographer in England, for three years. He was honorably discharged on October 17, 1945 and received the EAME Theatre Campaign Ribbon with seven Battle Stars. Mr. Aiken was employed by General Electric Co. for 42 years in the financial division, until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of the G.E. Quarter Century Club and an Elfun member. Mr. Aiken was a member of the Institute of Management Accountants and a member of the American Legion Mohawk Post #1450 in Halfmoon. He was a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Ammon Aiken; his daughter; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sons, Jeffrey John Aiken, Mark Ammon Aiken and William J. Aiken.
