Christine M. Hytry, age 88, of Stevens Point, died January 5, 2019 at the Point Manor Assisted Living.

Christine was born August 7, 1930 to the late Andrew and Regina (Stroik) Osowski in Stevens Point, WI. She grew up in the area, attended St Peter Catholic Grade School and Emerson High School.

Christine married Phillip Hytry at St Peter Catholic Church in 1950 and decided to dedicate her life to family. As her children grew, Christine began work at Weber Tackle, tying flies. After years of service, she decided to refocus her life and dedicate more time to her family and household.

Christine would describe herself as a simple person. She often stated, “I am a simple person, I had a simple life, I enjoyed my life and I am a happy person; and I value my health.” In her younger years, Christine enjoyed traveling with her husband, Phillip throughout the United States. She loved animals and often cared for several small dogs. In her spare time, Christine liked to go for walks, listen to music, go to farm corn cook-outs, watch movies, visit the library, and shop.

Survivors include her sons, David Hytry, Paul Hytry, and Patrick (Patricia “Nellie”) Hytry; grandchildren, Emily, Karla, and Kymberly; nieces, Kathleen (David) Haase and Rebecca (Tom) Thomason; and extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phillip; and brothers, Stanley and Joseph Osowski.
