Samuel Dickinson Sr. (d. 1761) is buried here along with his wife, Hannah Field Dickinson (d. 1740), their 8 year old daughter, Hepzibah, who also died in 1740 when she drowned along with her mother, and their son, Samuel Dickinson Jr. (d. 1780), according to the cemetery archives at the Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association in Deerfield. The stones are totally effaced and cannot be read. According to Ancestry, Samuel Dickinson Sr was the son of Nathaniel and Hepzibah Gibbs Dickinson and he married Hannah Field. According to the Vital Records of Deerfield, Samuel Dickinson and Hannah Field, of Whately, were married in Hatfield on December 24, 1729.
