Boonville, IN. – David Lloyd Fairweather, 80, of Boonville, Indiana passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at his home.
David was born on May 19, 1938 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to the late Lloyd Bruce and Lyda (Nelson) Fairweather.
David served in the United States Marine Corp for 5 years and retired from the United States Army after 15 years of service as a Chief Warrant Officer 2. While serving he was awarded a Purple Heart, Air Medal, Master Parachutist Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge, 2 time recipient of the Bronze Star, Distinguished Flying Cross with 2 Oak Leaf Cluster, Pathfinder Badge, Army Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, and a Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Silver Star. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post # 3418 in Boonville. He enjoyed woodworking.
David is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pat Fairweather of Boonville, IN; children, David Bruce Fairweather of Cincinnati, OH; Stephen Lloyd Fairweather and his wife, Sally of Evansville, IN; Debbie Marlin and her husband, Scott of Henderson, KY; Scott Allan Fairweather of Ozark, AL; grandchildren, Jessica Brown and her husband, Michael of Henderson, KY; Thaddeus and Ceceily Fairweather of Cincinnati, OH; Brooke and Callie Fairweather of Evansville, IN; Kaitlyn Marlin of Henderson, KY; great-grandchildren, Payton, Parker, Olivia, and Athena; sister, Joanne Meisner and her husband, Allen of Grand Forks, ND; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 P.M. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville, Indiana with Pastor Ryan Nunn officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville, Indiana with the Warrick County Veterans Memorial Service to conduct military honors.
Visitation will be from 3 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Monday, January 14, 2019 at the funeral home and again from 11 A.M. until the time of service on Tuesday.
