Muncie - Janice R. Epperson, 84, passed away Saturday evening, January 5, 2019, at Golden Living Center.

She was born in Muncie on June 25, 1934, the daughter of Vaughn W. and Rosa E. (Roberts) Smith and graduated from Muncie Central High School.

Mrs. Epperson was a secretary in the Physical Education Building at Ball State University for over thirty-five years prior to her retirement.

She was a member of the Indiana Historical Society and enjoyed spending time with her family and working crossword puzzles. Janice was an avid reader and enjoyed soft jazz music.

Surviving are her daughter, Valerie J. E. Kizer (Carl); four granddaughters, Kristin Lepley, Jennifer Holding (Bub), Cindy Baldwin, and Hillary Hamilton (Chris); two grandsons, Britt Epperson (Emily) and Jeremiah Epperson; ten great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law Rebecca K. Hay; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-four years, Paul Eugene Epperson; her son, Steven Paul Epperson; and two brothers, Vaughn H. and Paul M. Smith.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.

Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
