Maxine I. Raitt, 96 died Jan 8, 2019 at the Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Vinton. Funeral services held at 1:30 p.m. on Jan 12 at Phillips Funer Home chapel in Vinton. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
Maxine was born March 10, 1922 near Brandon,, the daughter of Merrill and Neva Evans She graduated from Vinton High School in May 1940. On March 17, 1941 she married Louis Raitt in Rock Island, IL.
Maxine cared for her husband, "Touie" in their home for many years before his death in 1998.
She is survived by daughter, Lynette and husband Doug of Cedar Rapids, a son Tom and wife Heidi, Yorkville, IL and a daughter-in-law Sherry of Evansdale, sever grand and great-grandchildren a brother Roger of Marion and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Louis, her son, Terry and brothers Bob, Lyle and Gail and sister Nadine.
