A memorial celebration for Barbara Sue Bacom, 82, of Edgewater, who went to be with Our Lord on October 26, 2018, will be held Saturday at 11:30 am in building D of First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach which is accessed from the church's rear parking area off Ridgewood Ave. Pastors Eric Stitts and Paul Dillow will officiate. There will be a graveside service and interment of Barbara at Woodland Cemetery in Port Orange at 10:00 am Saturday morning. A native of Knoxville, TN, she moved to this area in 1962. Barbara was always a hard worker. After moving to Florida, she took a job as accounting clerk at G.E, then as a typist for the court reporters office for Volusia County, followed by managing a consignment shop and lastly a job she loved dearly,secretary for Rev. Louis Lucas at the church. Barbara was an active member of First Baptist and her Sunday School Department. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, animals and cherished her time with family. Survivors include her beloved husband of 48 years, Steven; 3 sons, Jeff Bacom (Pamela Jones), Port Orange, Steve Bacom, Jr. (Joanne) Port Orange, and David Rogers (Denise) Knoxville, TN; 3 daughters, Diana Messel (Mark) Knoxville,TN, Brenda Settlemeyer, Atlanta, GA and Susan Arline (Carl) Daytona Beach; 1 brother, Jerry Bailey (Mary), Knoxville, TN; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
