Walter L. Acy, 77, of Brandon, passed from this life Tuesday, January 8, 2019, while surrounded by his family at home.
Visitation will be 5:00-8:00pm, Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 11:00am, Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Star Baptist Church with interment to follow in Crestview Memorial Gardens, Brandon. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.

Walter was born March 31, 1941, in Greenwood, Mississippi, a son of the late
Walter Buck Acy and Fredna Opehlia Watkins Acy.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served overseas in Germany from 1958 to 1961. Walter was a member of Star Baptist Church. He retired from the Howard Wilson dealership where he was an auto and transmission mechanic for more than 30 years. His hobbies including playing golf, building motorcycles and riding his Harley.

A devoted Christian father, Walter was loved dearly by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Marie Ertle Acy; sister, Brenda Joyce Johnson; and one grandchild.

Survivors include daughter, Theresa Harthcock and husband Anthony; sons, Walter William Acy and wife Judy, and Danny Levi Acy and wife Deanna; brother, Rhonnie Mark Acy; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home handled arrangements.
