Timothy Lewis Burnette, 54, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019.

He was born in Kingsport and lived here most of his life. He was a 1982 graduate of Dobyns Bennet. After high school, Tim enlisted in the U.S. Army and he proudly served in the 82nd Airborne, where he received numerous medals. After his service, he worked at Hawkins County Press. He enjoyed listening to music, sports (watching, playing, and coaching) and he loved his children.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Henry Pitts.

He is survived by his son, Cody Burnette; daughter, Kenzie Burnette; parents, Ann and Denver Burnette; and brother, Robby Burnette.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from noon till 2 PM at Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport,TN). Military graveside will follow at Mountain Home National Cemetery with American Legion Honor Guard Post 3/Gate City 265 providing military rites.

In lieu of flowers, please contribute to American Legion Honor Guard Post 3 or Gate City 265.
