Rachel Mae Abbott, 37, of Spring Hill, went to Heaven on Sunday, December 30, 2018.

Rachel was born to David and Beth Mallinak on January 14, 1981, in Terre Haute, Indiana. Rachel moved to Olathe, Kansas in the summer of 2002 after graduating from college in northern Indiana. She married the love of her life, Tim Abbott, in 2008. She worked for several years at Gentiva Health Services until she gave birth to her first child and was able to fulfill her dream of being a full-time wife and mother at their country home in Spring Hill.

Her family and friends were her life. She had a sweet and gentle spirit that touched many lives. She “snuck” dark chocolate every day, and loved ‘coffee shop visits’ with her family and friends. Rachel was a devoted member of Faith Chapel and was very involved in church activities including the women’s ministry, young adult ministry, Missionettes, and Vacation Bible School.

Rachel is survived by her husband Tim, step-daughter Brooke, daughter Vivian, and son Jameson. She also is survived by her parents, David and Beth Mallinak and four siblings: David (Belinda) Mallinak, and children John, Kathryn, Isaac, Laura, and Mitchell; Jennifer Gudenkauf and children Austin, and Abigail; Mary Rokicki and children Steven, and Ayden; and Daniel Mallinak.

Family and friends whose lives Rachel touched are invited to celebrate her life at Faith Chapel on Saturday, January 5, 2019. Faith Chapel is located at 15000 Newton Drive, Overland Park, KS 66223. Visitation will be from 10:00am – 11:30am, followed by the Celebration of Life at 11:30am.
