Broyles Doneleson Clayton, age 86, died Friday morning, August 31, 2018 at Rhea Medical Center in Dayton. He was born December 21, 1931 in Dayton to the late Jack Clayton and Katie (Hill) Clayton. Broyles was also preceded in death by his grandson Billy Clayton Jr.; his brothers Tommy Clayton and Raymond Clayton; his sister Marilyn “Jo” Clayton and two infant sisters.

Broyles lived in Rhea County all of his life. He retired as a maintenance supervisor at Kayser Roth Mfg. after 62 years. Broyles was instrumental in establishing, building and the caring of Frazier Park. He enjoyed woodworking and was a member of the New Bethel United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Alice (Bishop) Clayton; his son Donnie (Joan) Clayton of Murfreesboro; his daughter Dorothy (Donny) Anderson of Dayton; his four grandchildren, Justin Clayton, Allison (Dale) Bowman, Amanda Anderson and Dennis Fine; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; his brother Bobby (Vivian) Clayton of Atlanta, GA; his sisters, Louise (Harold) Ritchey of Dayton, Suvilla (Leonard) Clark of Hixson and Carolyn Sheble of Spring City.

Funeral services for Broyles will be held Monday at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Glenn Moseley and Rev. Harold Dixson officiating. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 12:00 noon at Spence Cemetery in Dayton.
