Mrs. Banta is also survived by her daughters, Jeana Lynn Nordstrom of Naples, FL.; Sherri (John) Cottrill, of Columbus, IN.; her son, Dale Keith (Nancy) Banta, of Hope, IN.; sisters, Rosemary Griffey, Elizabeth Larkey, Shirley Evans, Ruth (Morris) Cherry; and Patti (Larry) Green; 8 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son and daughter, sister, Nancy Larkey, and great-great-grandson.
Mrs. Banta attended Shelby High School. She was retired from Cummins.
She was a member of the Hanover Beach Boat Club. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and reading her books. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2019 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Harvey Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
