Alpha Rule, 72, died unexpectedly Saturday about noon in his home on Rt. 1, Bringhurst, after suffering an apparent heart attack. A neighbor, Robert Lamb, found him when he went to the home after receiving a call from Mr. Rule’s daughter that her father had not come to her home for Sunday dinner as expected.
Born near Camden January 15, 1899, he was the son of Perry and Anna Wise Rule. His. marriage February 14,1923, was to Ruth M. Goslee, who died in Feb. 1969.
A farmer, he was a member of Radnor United Methodist Church and the Delphi I.O.O.F. Lodge.
Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Donald (Carolyn) Hurtt of Lafayette; a son, Wayne Rule, of Brookston, who was en route to Florida; and two sisters Mrs. Leo (Mabel) Craig of Lafayette, and Mrs. Ray (Golden) Thomas of Indianapolis; and three grandchildren. A sister and three brothers preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Jackson Funeral Home in Delphi where services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Marcus Lang will officiate and interment will be in Masonic Cemetery, Delphi.
