(maiden name) Married 2nd: Hannah Kilburn Date: 1876 , Utah Abel was a farmer. He married Sara with the same surname as he had. They may have been relatives but it is not presently known. He and his wife joined the LDS Church in 1853 and started saving their money to come to the Valley. About this time their two-year-old daughter received some fatal burns from a freshly made pot of tea. She died on December 17, 1853 . The cost of her illness took all the funds they had saved. They worked hard another 11 years before they were able to save enough to emigrate in 1864. They were 46 days on the ocean. After their arrival, Abel and his family moved to Bountiful and Abel hired out to herd sheep. Eventually they moved into a home of their own. Abel owned the first reaper in South Bountiful . He also owned the first mowing machine to cut hay. Children: Emma , b. 14 April 1847 , England . Edna , b. 1851 , D. of burns, age 2, 17 Dec 1853 , England . Child. Louise Johnson.
