Charlie Norman Lyden, 89, of Pittsburg, Kansas died at 4:17 A.M. Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Via Christi Hospital at Pittsburg, Kansas.

Mr. Lyden was born April 24, 1929 at Liberal, Missouri the son of Weldon C. and Mabel Leota Jenkins Lyden. Charlie was a retired machinist for McNally Corporation in Pittsburg where he worked for 37 years. He was raised in Arcadia and attended Arcadia Schools. He had been a resident of Pittsburg most of his life. He married Betty Stewart on October 14, 1950 at Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Mrs. Stewart survives at the home. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Benjamin Fuller Post #64 at Pittsburg. Survivors include his wife Betty of the home, a daughter, Jeanne "Mitch" Hines of Las Vegas, Nevada, a son, C. Norman Lyden of Little Rock, Arkansas, a brother, Billy Lyden of Topeka, Kansas, three grandchildren, Leslie and Michelle Hines, and Julian Lyden, and four great grandchildren, Maizey, Khya, Remi, and Jace Weldon. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Clarence, Everett, DeWayne, and Harold Lyden.

Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas with the Rev. Bob Cuthbertson officiating. Burial will be at the Rosebank Cemetery at Mulberry, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. Tuesday prior to the funeral service. The family suggests memorials to the Mulberry Funeral Dinner Fund. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 East Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
