Marian was born January 28, 1928, in Henderson, NE, to P.A. Regier and Marie (Huebert) Regier. When she was still an infant, her family moved to Madrid, NE. Marian completed her schooling at Freeman Academy and Jr. College in Freeman, SD. After obtaining her teaching degree, she married the neighbor boy, Harold Doerksen, on December 27, 1951, and they settled near Madrid on the Doerksen farm. They had 5 children, one dying in infancy.
The family moved to Camp Verde, AZ, in 1965 where Harold built houses and continued to farm. Marian was a homemaker and piano teacher. She and Harold loved the Lord and faithfully served in several churches over the years. Marian played piano for countless music programs, weddings, and funerals. Tragically, on May 31, 1973, Harold passed away after being struck by lightning while constructing their family home.
On June 7, 1974, Marian married David Brundage who did the brickwork on many of Harold’s houses. They spent 30 years together in Camp Verde, enjoying her 2 sons and their families and many friends. In 2004, Dave passed away after a short battle with cancer. Marian continued to reside in Camp Verde until August of 2017 when she moved to Freeman, SD, to be close to her 2 daughters.
Marian is survived by her children Jerry (Sharon) Doerksen of Strawberry, AZ, Gwen (Stan) Ortman, of Freeman, SD, Wayne (Jeanette) Doerksen of Prescott Valley, AZ, Twila (Doug) Dubs of Freeman, SD, step-daughter Cathy (Don) (Brundage) Davis of Des Moines, WA, 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
