Mrs. Reece was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late H.D. and Lavada Crawford Conner. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Faye Black, Margaret Webb and Betty King, and brothers, Claude Conner and Letch Conner.
She is survived by four sons, David Reece and his wife, Christine, and Darrell Reece and his wife, Teena, of Greensboro, and Dale Reece and his wife, Linda, and Don Reece and his wife, Bonnie, all of Asheville; eight grandchildren, Kim Coward, Lori Reece, Stacy Couch, Kim Storie, Wendy Holiday. Holly Reece, Kevin Reece and Elizabeth Reece; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Joe Conner of Candler and Scott Conner of Fairview.
The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with burial to follow at Oak Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
