Mrs. Erma Shinn
ARGOS -- Mrs. Erma Shinn, 77, who had resided with her daughter, Mrs. Peggy Davis, of Argos, died at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday in the La Porte Hospital, E. St. Division after a two-month illness. She lived in North Liberty for 46 years coming from Elkhart. She was born on June 14, 1890 in Elkhart County and was married on Feb. 20, 1913 in Elkhart to Walter A. Shinn, who died in 1963. Surviving Mrs. Shinn besides her daughter, are three sons, Everett of Koontz Lake, Donald of Dayton, Ohio, and Melvin of Hanna; six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild, seven step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Scott and Mrs. Ruth Phend, both of Elkhart. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in Palmer Funeral Home, North Liberty, until services at 1:30 p.m. Friday. Rev. Jacob Waechter, pastor of the Argos Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery, North Liberty.
