Robert was born on April 12, 1928, in Bremond, Texas, to the late Horace Shay and Mabrey Elizabeth Petteway Brantner. He attended school in Bremond. Robert married Betty Willbanks Land on January 9, 1997. Robert worked in trucking as a dispatcher for many years. He loved yard work, especially weed eating. Robert loved people and never met a stranger. He was a deacon at Corinth Baptist Church which he attended for many years.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Brantner, of Dew; sons: Dean Brantner and wife, Cindy of Pasadena, Richard Brantner and his wife, Charlotte, of Teague, Casey Brantner and his wife, Faye, of Mountain View, Arkansas, and Rob Brantner and his wife, Kay, of Tennessee; daughter, Paula Williamson, of Orlando, FL; step-son, Roy Land and Kelly, of Buffalo; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Geri Smith, of Tomball; brothers, Charles Brantner, of Lovelady, and Dud Brantner, of Splendora; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
