1940-2018 Jewel Juanita ("Nita") Norsworthy, 78, of Beaumont, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018. She was born in Weirgate, Texas, on April 17, 1940, to Eva M. and James Lester Norsworthy. Miss Norsworthy spent much of her life caring for her parents through their illnesses and enjoyed being an Avon saleswoman for a number of years. She loved spending time with her family and was like a grandmother to her great-niece Lindsey. Miss Norsworthy was preceded in death by her parents, Eva and Lester, and her sisters, Paulette Norsworthy Barclay and Peggy Norsworthy. Those left to cherish her memory are her aunt, Earlyene Seymour and her husband, Bob, of Beaumont; her uncle, R. H. Smith, and his wife Glenda, of Burkeville, Texas; her niece, Stacey Barclay Richardson, and her husband, Tim, of Houston; her nephew, Scott Barclay, and his wife, Tresa, of Big Spring, Texas; her great niece, Lindsey Richardson, of Houston; her great nephew, Blake Barclay, of Big Spring; and her brother-in-law, Don Barclay, of Port Neches, Texas. A memorial service to honor Miss Norsworthy's life will be held graveside at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at the Tanner Cemetery in Burkeville under the care of Smith Funeral Home in Newton. Should friends and family desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
