Donna Patricia Brown Champneys joined her eternal companion Irl on December 30, 2108. She passed away surrounded by her loved ones. She was 91 years old.

Donna was born on November 26, 1927 in Lytton, Iowa to Bernice and Vivian Brown. She moved to Utah at the age of 3 years old. She had resided in Tremonton, Ogden, and North Ogden for the past 61 years.

She graduated from Weber High School. She married her childhood friend and sweetheart Irl I. Champneys on August 20, 1948 in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on March 22, 1957. Together they were blessed with four daughters, Jan McFarland (deceased), Debra (Don) Manley, North Ogden, UT; Dana (Tony) Mook, Henderson, NV; and Diane (Marc) Hall, North Ogden, UT.

Her pride and joy were her 15 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. She was always thrilled to have visits from them. She would be happy to know that most all of them visited or had her in their hearts and thoughts in her final days.

Donna chose to move to Quail Meadows Assisted Living in April 2016 until her passing. She wanted to reassure her daughters that she was safe and taken care of. She enjoyed her friends and playing bingo, but most of all she was proud of her bingo winnings (candy).

She loved to watch the Utah Jazz and watched right up to the night before she passed. She loved her gummy bears, snickers, diet Coke, bear claws, and her ice cream. We are sure these replaced a meal or two.

She had many callings as an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Donna is survived by her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her sister, Sharron Vezzani, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irl; daughter, Jan; sons-in-law, Val McFarland and Conrad Maw; and her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Ben Lomond 9th Ward, 575 East 3100 North, North Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Quail Meadow Assisted Living for their loving care they gave her.

Mom you were a Christ like example to your daughters and their families. You have taught us by example. You will continue to be a great influence in all of our lives. We will cherish and find joy in the great memories we had together.
