Leona Elizabeth Tollefson was called home to Heaven on Friday after several years of battling bronchiectasis. She touched many lives with her cheery disposition, acts of love & her countless cards of encouragement & love.
Leona was born in the Township of St. Mathias in Crow Wing County, Minnesota. She graduated from Washington High School in Brainerd, Minnesota. Leona was wed on Aug 22, 1939 to Mervin, aka Bud Tollefson. They shared 53 wonderful years, until Bud's passing in 1992. Leona enjoyed sharing laughter, baking cookies, playing Yahtzee, card games, decorating for the holidays and gardening. Most important to Leona was spending time with her family.
Leona was preceded in death by son Wayne Tollefson. She is survived by her devoted children Sharon Bridges of Rexford, MT, Mark Tollefson of Marion, MT, Jennie Short, Campbell, CA, 12 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 39 great-great grandchildren.
Leona took all the wonders of life, wrapped them in a colorful package giving it to family and friends to share. Her loving spirit will be missed by those whose life she touched.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Friday, Jan. 4, 2018 From 4-7 pm. The Rosary, same date & location, at 5:00 PM at Darling & Fischer Campbell Memorial Chapel, 231 E. Campbell Ave. in Campbell. Celebration of Life on Saturday, Jan. 5 starts at 11 am at the Campbell Memorial Chapel. Burial to follow at Los Gatos Memorial Park, 2255 Los Gatos-Almaden Road in San Jose.
