Nancy Berry Saxon, 64, of Eighty Four, died Friday, July 7, 2000, in Canonsburg General Hospital.

She was a daughter of the late Robert M. and Alice Post Berry.

Mrs. Saxon was a 1953 graduate of Trinity High School and a 1957 graduate of Penn State University and received a master's degree in library science from Carnegie Mellon University.

Mrs. Saxon worked as a corporate librarian at Alcoa and H.B. Maynard Co. during the 1960s.

From 1978 to 1982, she was director of Washington County Historical Society.

Following her retirement, she and her husband focused their attention on her family's farm in Eighty Four, now known as Saxonberry Farm.

Mrs. Saxon was a member of the Martha Washington Garden Club and a founding member of the Washington Spinners and Weavers Guild.

On October 24, 1964, in Emmanuel United Presbyterian Church, she married James W. Saxon, who died November 11, 1997.

Surviving is a daughter, Elizabeth Saxon Erikson; a brother, Robert P. Perry of Linden; a sister, Rebecca Quay of Oxford, Ohio; three grandchildren, Berry Jane, Rowan William, and Belle McVicker Erikson; and two nieces and two nephews.

A sister, Sarah Elizabeth Berry, is deceased.

Friends of Nancy Berry Saxon of Eighty Four, who died Friday, July 7, 2000, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and noon to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Piatt & Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 10, with the Rev. Rob Shoup officiating.

Interment will follow in Emmanuel United Presbyterian Cemetery.
