Mrs. Christine Purvis Lucas, 93 of Owingsville, passed away Tuesday morning, January 1, 2019 at the St. Joseph-Mt. Sterling Hospital in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.

She was born in Bath County, Kentucky on May 26, 1925 to the late George and Margaret Purvis.

Mrs. Lucas was a homemaker and a member of the Tunnel Hill Church of God. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, canning, cooking and spending time with her family.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Lucas and two sons, Roger Franklin Lucas and Samuel Wayne Lucas. A grandson, Herbert Wayne Harrison. Her siblings; Granville, Lawrence, Robert, Sadie and Betty.

Survivors include One son, Michael Farris Lucas and his wife Phyllis of Mt. Sterling, two daughters, Mary Jean Crouch and Bonnie Lou Davis both of Owingsville. Five grandchildren James Allen Davis, Shanda Ginn, Chris (Benny) Turner, Thomas (Beki) Lucas and B. J. Crouch. Eight Great-Grandchildren; Marcus (Jessica) Turner, Cody (Carleigh) Turner, Stewart Johnson, Lucas Johnson, Robert Cobb, Ryan Cobb, Christina Whisman, and Aaron Bates. Also, Several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Jeff Fannin officiating.

Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is after 6:00 P.M. Friday.

Pall bearers will be grandsons and other family members
