He graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School and went on to serve in the Air Force for 3 years from 1946-1949 reaching status of Staff Sergeant. He worked in the Marietta Army Depot where he met his wife, Pauline. Shortly after, he began a career with Alcoa as a Computer Operator and worked there until his retirement.
He was a member of Hempfield United Methodist Church where he served as an usher.
Claude enjoyed bowling and walking his dog all over Landisville. He also liked to travel which included trips to Hawaii, the Western United States and a cruise around the Alaskan Inlet Passage.
He is survived by his son, Carl Wagner, of Landisville and a brother, Gerald Wagner, of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by: Dorothy Yeakel, Verna Styer, Edgar Wagner, Richard Wagner, Kenneth Wagner, Robert Wagner, Joyce Dicely, Shirley Reardon and Paul Wagner.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Claude's Funeral Service at The Groffs Family Funeral Home, 528 W. Orange Street, Lancaster, PA (corner of W. Orange & Pine Sts.), Lancaster, PA on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park.
