He was an auto mechanic, and received training at the Firestone School in Akron, Ohio. He had been employed by Ralph Burkhart and Floyd Butts. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, serving as deacon. He also was a member of the Men's Bible Class, and was a former member of choir. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, and Retired Men's Retreat.
He is survived by his wife, Estella Dick Bascue; daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Marie Harris, Bealton, Va.; son, Charles Arthur Bascue, New Orleans, La.; sister, Mrs. Kathleen Kidwell, Anderson, SC; brother, Fred Bascue, Lodi, Ca.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the Brown Funeral Home. Burial in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
