He was awarded a patent on 160 acres from the State of Texas on April 27, 1883 in East Rocky Creek, 17.5 miles NE Burnet, Burnet County, Tx. He appeared on the census on June 28, 1900 in Precinct #7, Burnet County, Tx. He died on April 1, 1902 in Burnet County, Tx. He was buried in the Bachelor Peak Cemetery, Burnet County, Tx.
He was married to Ellen Eliza Lewis on Sept. 7, 1875 in Travis County, Texas. Ellen Eliza Lewis was born on Dec.15, 1857 in Missouri. She appeared on the census on April 29, 1910 in JP #2, Lake Victor District, Burnet County, Tx. She died on Sept. 24, 1943 in Burnet County, Tx. She is buried in Davis Cemetery, Burnet County, Tx.
