We are informed by the professional genealogist that found the record for the Nims Family Association mentioned in her report that although the marriage is recorded after the birth of Godfrey and his sister Mary, it was not unusual in the Commonwealth period (under Cromwell) for people to simply pledge their faith to each other privately or in civil service and then formalize it in the church records at a later date.

Ellen was the mother of Godfray, bap. 22 Oct. 1648 and Mary, bap. 1651 at St. Clement-Danes Church, Westminster (London) England.

Details: The St Clement Danes Cemetery located on Portugal Street and the crypt under the church were used for burials until ~1853. Both were closed shortly after where as the cemetery was cleared of all memorials and leveled. During the restoration of the church in the late 1950s, the remains in the crypt were cremated, and the ashes were interred under the south stair. There are only two surviving coffin plaques are there. One for Ann Donne and the other for the family of Francisco Vaillant.
