Lawrence “Larry” Melvin Britt, age 76 of Gainesville, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. Larry was born November 11, 1942 in Raleigh, North Carolina to Paul Hampton and Lottie Virginia Cooke Britt.
Larry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a simple man and lived a simple life. He was an avid Gator fan and enjoyed watching the games with family and friends. He loved his family most of all and gained the most pleasure from spending time with them.
Larry is survived by his daughters, Brandi Britt Boswell (Matt) of Greensboro, GA and Laura Britt Holbrook (Josh) of Newberry, FL; nephew, Charles A. Britt and five grandchildren, Ethan Cole and Ella Cooper, Isabella, Britt and Hayes Holbrook. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betsy Jean Thompson; brothers, Phillip Daniel Britt, Paul Henry Britt, Jr. and Frank Tilden Britt, Sr. and nephew, Frank Tilden Britt, Jr.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street.
