Born on May 28, 1934 in Wayne County to Lewis and Lena (Warren) Manahan, he was a veteran of the US Army and a lifelong Farmer.
Virgil loved to hunt and fish, was the last living charter member of the Geff Ruritan Club, and was a member of the Arrington Prairie "Bailey" General Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son Tim (Donna) Manahan of Cisne, grandsons Josh (Driahna) Manahan of Fairfield and Cody (Kimmra Crawford) Manahan of Cisne, great grandchild Elin Manahan, brother in law Donnie (Peggy) Barnard of Cisne, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marva Jean Manahan, his parents, and a sister Darlene Angle.
Funeral services for Virgil Manahan will be held at 10 AM, Monday, December 31 at the Arrington Prairie "Bailey" General Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Bailey Cemetery with military rites provided by the Anthony Wayne Post #176 American Legion and the Wayne Memorial Post #4535 VFW.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5-7 PM at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Memorials in his honor may be made to the Bailey Cemetery.
