Funeral services for Mr. Charlie P. Miles were held on Monday, March 1, 2004, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Emile A. Rousseau Jr. and the Rev. Randy Brown officiating. Burial followed at Woodard Cemetery in Taylor.
Mr. Miles, a native of Gibsland, passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, after suffering two strokes on Jan. 1. He was born on Aug. 4, 1911, and was a member of Taylor Baptist Church. He was retired after 40 years with Woodard and Walker Lumber Co., and several years at Willamette Industries. After retirement, gardening was his favorite pasttime. Sharing with his friends and family, passing on canned goods he made himself until his stroke in January.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 70 years, Mary Lee Brewer Miles; a very special little angel, grandson Johnathan Kevin Blank; three brothers; and one sister. He is survived by a daughter, Margaret Lee Miles Blank; two grandchildren, Christopher and Celeste Blank; one little dog, Danny; and a few chickens; very special friends, William Still, Mr. and Mrs. L.M. Lamkin, Bo and Sue Scott; and many friends and family.
Pallbearers were William Still, Skipper Lefeaux, Claud Walker, Chad Still, Brian Still and David Ogwyn.
