MAYSVILLE — George Vernon “Rusty” Brooks, 81, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018.

Rusty was born Feb. 23, 1937, in Sciotoville, Ohio, to the late James and Liddie Blevins Brooks.

He was retired from Black River Mine.

Survivors include his children, Robert Brooks of Lexington, Diane Hayden of Cumberland and Rhonda Brooks of Mount Vernon; sisters, Shirley Hale, Nowanna (Virgil) Bisotti, both of Maysville, Ann (Paul) Gray of Lewisburg, and Virginia Webb of Mansfield, Ohio; brothers, Harry Brooks of Fairview, and Wendell Brooks of Ewing; and three grandchildren, Leslie and Jessica Hayden, and Tessa Brooks Lemons.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Charles, Amos and Bill Brooks; and sisters, Edith Mallory and Nancy Johnson.

Funeral services for Rusty Brooks will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at Brell and Son Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Maysville Cemetery

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
