She then graduated from Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in 1948 and immediately landed a job at a Boston law firm. Soon after she met the love of her life, Herbert N. Colcord Jr., also of North Quincy, an Army veteran of World War II. They were married on April 20, 1950 at the First Baptist Church in Wollaston. In 1955, the young couple moved from North Quincy to Randolph and spent the next 50 years in the same house raising a family of three children. They were members of the First Baptist Church in Randolph where, for many years, Audrey helped manage the finances of the preschool.
