NOAH BASCOM, 83, DIES EARLY THURSDAY
FUNERAL SATURDAY AT PETER L. SCHWARTZ HOME

Noah Bascom, 83, retired farmer, died at 12:45 a.m. Thursday at the Peter L. Schwartz home southeast of Berne, on Geneva R.R. 2. Death was attributed to pneumonia. He had been ill two weeks. Bascom had not been in good health for some time. He had lived in this community since 1902 and spent many years of his life in Monroe Township, northeast of Berne.

A native of New York State, Bascom was born Nov. 30, 1872 (sic). He was married to Barbara Schwartz May 29, 1903. She preceded in death Jan. 11, 1942. The only survivor is a stepson, Peter C. Schwartz, of this community.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Peter L. Schwartz home, Bishop Sam Hilty officiating. Burial will be in Wabash Township Cemetery. Bascom was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
