Mary Post, 89, who resided in Ellenton, Florida, but was a long-time resident of Oxford, New York, sadly passed away on December 7th, 2018 in Bradenton, Florida.

Mary was born on September 12, 1929 in Franklin, New York to Clymena and Charles Alexander. She was raised on her family farm with her sister and brother until she attended Ithaca College in 1951, earning a bachelor's degree in music education. On August 18, 1951, Mary married her high school sweetheart, Richard (Dick) Post and eventually they moved to Oxford, New York, where they resided for the rest of her adult life. Mary taught second grade in Oxford for over 30 years and maintained the friendships that she made while living there until her death.

After 60 plus years of marriage, her beloved husband Dick passed away on April 9, 2015 and Mary continued to share time between Oxford and her retirement home in Florida. She recently became a full-time resident of Florida in October of 2017.

Mary was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Her loyalty, honesty, strength, morality and character were unmatched and her continuous love for learning, experiencing and traveling was admired and shared by many. Her smile, laugh, conversations and love of games, competitions and adventures will be sorely missed by her family and friends. She was grateful for the long, happy and healthy life she was able to share with all of them.

Mary is survived by her children, Jeff (Deb) Post, Teri (Tom) Kozlowski, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, a sister, two sisters in law and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
