For more than forty years, Dr. Anderson had a surgery practice in San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay, Calif. His life was dedicated to serving is patients. In 1965, Pete married Sherry Heck Nelson. To this union, two daughters were born, Melissa K. Carpenter of Gypsum, Colorado and Lisa M. Talley, who works in Panama City, Panama. In 1979, Pete married Cindy Anderson and had a son, Winston L. Anderson III "Petey," who currently works and resides in the Mentawai Islands, Indonesia. Dr. Anderson was also married to Theresa Ipsen Anderson. These marriages ended in divorce. Pete was a stand out athlete in high school and college. He played football for Maur Hill and Notre Dame and rugby for Kansas University. He was also a competitive diver and swimmer and a life-long runner. He had a passion for exotic automobiles which he proudly collected.
Winston is survived by his three children: Lisa (Doug Bristol), Melissa (Tim) and Petey (Inne); two sisters: Geraldine Blair, Lawrence, Kansas and Elizabeth Johnson, Atchison, Kansas; and a brother, Charles of Anchorage, Alaska. He was also known as "Papa Pete" to his four beloved grand- children: Brandi Talley, Haley Carpenter, Kassandra Carpenter and Jute Anderson. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews and a companion, Chris Lua. He was preceded in death by both parents; and a sister, Joan Falk, Atchison, Kansas. Dr. Anderson has donated his body to medical science.
