Ed is survived by his wife of 29 years, Maureen Rentz, daughter: Lynn Rentz, step-children: Donna (Ken) Macklin, Lynn (John) Valente, and Rick (Bonnie) Stark, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and his Pittsburgh crew.
He is preceded in death by William Rentz (father), Ruth Rentz Bremer (mother), Ruth Malsch (sister), and William Bremer (step-father).
Edward was born on August 6, 1932 in Chicago, IL.
He proudly served as a marine from 1952-1955.
Ed worked at Miller and Company followed by an accomplished career of over 20 years at Jack Gray Incorporated. After retiring, he enjoyed working at Combined, LLC.
His family remembers him as caring and fun, and he encouraged them to always make others feel welcome. He would remind family and friends that each day they had something to be grateful for, often heard saying, "You woke up."
He will be remembered as a generous man willing to give the shirt off his back, the life of the party with a great sense of humor, an avid movie goer, and one who enjoyed traveling.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at St. Maria Goretti in Dyer, IN. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ed's life.
