This image is Balls Dam Plantation built by Dr. John Saunders Palmer in 1842. The home was abandoned by the family after the South Carolina Earthquake made the chimneys unsound. The home was greatly damaged by the Great Hurricane of 1893 and finally fell down in the early 1900's. Oddly, only the chimneys were left standing.
