Born in Newport, TN to the late Kervie Ball and Deliah MaGaha Ball, he was the husband of Kathleen "Kappy" Couch Ball. Alfred had been a resident of Hopewell Twp. since 2002. Before moving back to NJ, he had lived in Virginia for six years and had resided in Bridgeton for 23 years prior to that.
Before his retirement in 1984, Alfred had been employed with Owens Illinois Glass Company in Bridgeton for 36 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during peace time. In his free time Alfred enjoyed ballroom dancing with his wife, Kappy.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Layne Ball (Sandy) of Upper Deerfield Twp. and Kim Allen Ball; a brother, John T. Ball of Newport, TN; a sister, Lucille Self of Hot Springs, NC; a grandson, Jarvis Ball (Margaret) and three great grandchildren, Jon, Angelina and Lola. Alfred was preceded in death by five brothers, Roman, Wilse, Glen Joseph and Robert Ball and three sisters, Dorothy Polky, Lucinda Spence and Beulah Herter.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Padgett Funeral Home, Upper Deerfield Twp.
