He provided for his parents, siblings, several charities and an orphan child he was living with, William Brown Moraira. He left $500 for Elizabeth Boyce [sic], along with another $2,000 to purchase farm land in Illinois, of which upon her death, was to revert to William Brown Moraira.
Per his will, he was born in "Saint Michel, Azore Island, Portugal," and his parents and sister Julia were still living there.
