Son of Paschal Brown and Sarah Ann Broughton. Husband of Martha Elizabeth Wallace Brown of Monroe Co., Alabama. Father of John Wallace Brown, Mary Elizabeth Brown Hall, William Freeman Brown and Robert Nathanel Brown. Served in the Civil War (CSA) as Pvt in Company H, 17th Alabama infantry, enlisted 25 Oct 1861 at Camp Davis in Shorters, Alabama. Died of pleurisy in a Yankee Prisoner of War Camp at Camp Douglas in Chicago, Illinois.
