Richard McKinley Plake, age 66, passed away Friday January 12, 2018. He was born to William McKinley Plake and Alice Davis on February 24, 1951 in Silsbee, TX. Richard was a retired self-employed welder. He was a member of the Pipefitters Local Union 195. He and his loving wife, Phyllis, were longtime residents of Evadale. He enjoyed participating in rodeos and making a living as a farrier, shoeing horses. Richard was a faithful servant as a member of the Central Baptist Church in Evadale, TX. Left to honor Richard's memory is his loving wife; Phyllis, of Evadale, TX; sons, Cody Plake and wife, Shana, of Wylie, TX, Colt Plake and wife, Stephanie, of Lumberton, TX; granddaughter, McKinley Plake and grandsons, Carter Plake and Collin Plake. Preceding Richard in death are his parents, William Plake and Alice Davis, and numerous brothers and sisters. Visitation with family and friends will be Sunday January 14, 2018 from 12pm-2pm at Farmer Funeral Home, 415 N. 4th St., Silsbee, TX 77656. Richard's life honoring service will be at 2pm at the funeral home chapel. Officiated by Pastor Jeff Gravis. Interment at Morse Cemetery in Buna, TX 77612. Serving as Pall Bearers are Cody Plake, Colt Plake, Glenn McClammy, Vince McClammy, Ronnie Walters, and Mike Wells. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Milton Clark, Durwood Crocker, and Charles Andrews.
