Evelyn Frances Anderson passed from this life December 14, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Perkins, Oklahoma at the age of 86. A celebration of her life will be December 17, 2018 at 10:30a.m. at the Cimarron Valley Church in Perkins. Pastor Paul Dawson will officiate. There will be visitation at Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater on Sunday December 16th from 12:00p.m. to 9:00p.m.
Evelyn was born in Ruckum, South Dakota on August 14, 1932 to Floyd and Eliza Grimm. She and her family moved to Perkins/Ripley area where she went to school. She did not graduate but later in life she felt the need to complete her education so at the age of 55 she obtained her GED. She was very proud of that accomplishment.
She married JD Anderson on September 1, 1950. From this union were born 5 sons and 1 daughter; Rodger Dale, Chuck (Charles) Floyd, Richard Allen, Johnny Dean, Mark Frances and Gladys Marie. Evelyn and JD worked for over forty years side by side in the plumbing business. Evelyn was one the hardest working women in this area. After JD’s death in 1991 she went to work at the Perkins-Tryon school and later worked at the Meridian Technology School in Stillwater.
She was preceded in death by her husband JD Anderson, father Floyd Grimm, Mother Eliza Grimm, 4 siblings, Wayne Grimm, Beulah Grimm, Artie Grimm, and Elnora Grimm, one sister-in- law Kathy Grimm and one brother- in- law Bill Hammack , 2 sons Richard Allen Anderson and Johnny Dean Anderson, one grandson David Allen Grant.
She leaves behind a legacy of children; Rodger and wife Susie of Ingalls, Chuck and wife Mary of Blanchard, Mark and wife Rhonda of Perkins, and daughter Gladys and husband Owen Morris of Perkins. She also had 12 Grandbabies, 24 Great Grandbabies and 3 Great- Great Grandbabies. She also was survived by her brother and sisters Raymond Grimm, Bertha Hammock, Mary Trussel, Bessie Cameron and Florence Nettles.
