Dorothy Lou Allen 82, of Paris, died at 4:19 AM, Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Baylor Scott & White - Grapevine. Funeral services are set for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 18, 2018 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Jody VanDeaver and Benjamin Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Knights of Honor Cemetery in Blossom. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 PM Monday evening at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born April 17, 1936 in Paris. She worked as the bookkeeper for Allen’s Transmission Service from 1968 until 1982 and along with her husband, Edd, owned Allen’s Auto Parts Store from 1982 until she retired in 1999. She was a member of East Paris Baptist Church. Mrs. Allen married Edd Talma Allen on August 19, 1952 in Paris. He died November 26, 2013.
She is survived by her two sons, Jerry Edd Allen and wife, Ann and Terry Lynn Allen and wife, Sherry; three grandsons, Aaron Matthew Allen, Daniel Ryan Allen and wife, Brittany, and Benjamin Lee Hall and wife, Kayla; a great-grandson, Phoenix Hall; one sister, Mary Helen VanDeaver; several nieces and nephews; her two beloved Boston Terriers, Angel and Carli; and her grandpup, Roscoe. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Rodgers; her daughter, Patricia Ann Allen; and a great-grandbaby, Gideon Hall.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Allen, Benjamin Hall, Jody VanDeaver, Tommy VanDeaver, Gary VanDeaver, Earl Dean Posey, and Daniel Allen.
