RIBBLE, DAVID A., JR., 75, born January 24, 1930 passed into the Lord's presence on Tuesday, May 3, 2005. David was a devoted husband and loving father. Survived by his wife Alice LaFerne; sons David, Paul, John; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; and 2 sisters Barbara Wilder and Carol Mason. David is predeceased by his father David A. Ribble, Sr, his mother Thelma and only daughter, Janet Waddell. David was a native of Dallas and married to LaFerne for 51 years. Forty-seven years ago, they decided to call Irving home and developed many friendships and memories as they raised their family there. He was a longtime member of Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving. After his retirement, David could be found at Las Colinas Country Club, where he "went to work" many days. Graduating from Adamson High School in 1948, Dave joined the Navy and served in Korea on the USS Ozbourn. After his discharge, he returned to Dallas and met his wife to be. He determinedly wooed her on his guitar and they were married not long after. He was a talented musician, devoted family man and successful business owner. After retiring, he took great pleasure in mentoring his sons. He exemplified the principle of "being a man of your word." He built several businesses on that principle and was proud of the fact that his sons followed that example. His wisdom and strength will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Visitation was held at Donnelly's Funeral Home on May 4 with the funeral following on May 5, 10 a.m. at Plymouth Park Baptist Church. Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home 606 W. Airport Frwy.
