Patricia E. "Pat" Cherry

RANDOLPH - Patricia E. "Pat" Cherry, 71, of Sheldon St., Randolph, passed away unexpectedly Saturday (Dec. 1, 2018) in the emergency room at UPMC Chautauqua.

She was born Oct. 7, 1947, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Raymond L. and Barbara Jean Mullerschon Johnson.

Patricia attended Randolph Central School and was a graduate of the Olean Business Institute.

Prior to her retirement, she had been a receptionist at Heritage Village, and was the secretary to the principal at the Gail N. Chapman Elementary, at Randolph Central School. In earlier years, she worked for Elkdale Wood Products, as their office manager.

Pat was a lover of all things. She was a dog breeder for Shih Tzu and Bichon dogs and often kept track of her pups by requesting photos from the new owners. The things most important to her were family, her children and grandchildren, working with the elderly, raising dogs and listening to music. She also enjoyed renovating, remodeling and flipping houses. She had a green thumb and loved gardening.

She is survived by two daughters, Elaine (Carmen) DeGiglio of Olean and Tammy (Scott) Huddleson of Randolph; siblings, Teresa (Roger) Grover of Randolph, Cheryl (the late Douglas) Grover and Raymond E. Johnson, both of Kennedy; and her companion Ronald N. Carlson of Bemus Point; nine grandchildren, Traci (Kyle) Wilcock, Joshua Cherry, Matt (Joy) Cherry, Nicholas Oakes, Maria DeGiglio, Patrick Bly, Tyler Griffin, Jordyn Huddleson and Zach Huddleson; seven great-grandchildren; and her beloved aunt, Marrianna (Merle) Hendrickson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond L. and Barbara Jean; and a son, U.S. Army retired Michael Roy Oakes Cherry.

Burial will follow in the Randolph Cemetery.
